Jungle oats - Tops with the Scots!

I have been eating Jungle Oats for 35 years since I arrived in South Africa from Scotland. We get raised on porridge oats there. LOL. Anyway, this latest box I bought wasn't up to the usual standard. The oats just were not softening as much as they normally do. I tried slowing down the cooking time because I know that if you cook them too fast they stay hard. This didn't solve the problem so I wrote to Tiger Brands this morning using their website response tool explaining my predicament!

I couldn't believe it - 4.00pm this afternoon, that's the same working day, this oke called Peter calls me back from Tiger Brands to get the manufacturing batch details off the side of the box. He then explains to me that this info will be passed on to their manufacturing dept for further investigation because seemingly they keep a sample of every batch they make. He also tells me not to persevere with the current box if I am not happy because he is sending me a voucher in the post for another one as a gesture of goodwill.

I've worked in big corporates all my life and none of them have even come close to this kind of customer response. Impressive stuff Tiger Brands.
