My wife has chronic epilepsy, her usual prescription has always been collected at Dis-chem canal walk.
After visiting Discovery for a claim, they notified me that i was charged a couple of times form my savings rather than from the chronic benefit. I spoke to the store manager at Dis-chem canal walk who liaised with Discovery to resolve the issue.
It has been 5 months almost without a resolution as they can not obtain a letter from the manufacture stating that the usual dose was out of stock (750mg-Redilev) and that they needed to substitute it with 250mg and 500mg separately. As a result of this, i was not made aware that they were taking the payment from my savings (adds up to approx R2000). Due to this, i no longer have any medical savings for this year and need to pay for pregnancy scans and blood tests out of my own pocket. (Not the kind of thing i want to worry about when having a child)
I then received a call from Discovery health stating that there is nothing they can do (22 Nov 2013).
I am seeking advise to resolve this issue.
