We purchased a diningroom table online from Chandeliers and Antiques/ Sonia Mecoli through Bid or Buy for R39.800.00. The table colour in the picture on the Bid or Buy site was completely different to the colour of the table that arrived. Sonia Mecoli further stated on the Bid or Buy site that the Indicative market price was R85, 000.00. I requested a valuation today for the table from Stephan Welz Auctioneers and the price they quoted me was R8000.00 to R12.000.00. I contacted Chandeliers and Antiques today to request that they take the table back and as a gesture of goodwill, I will pay for the delivery. The reply was " The table is as per description and therefore I will not cancel the transaction and refund you." The colour of the table in the picture is completely different to the colour of the table that arrived. We are not querying the description, only the big colour differential. We have advised her that we will go to the National Consumer Commission to lodge a complaint for her misleading advert and dishonest conduct. We will also contact Bid or Buy and advise them of this as well as Wendy Knowler from Consumer Watch. Carte Blanche should also warn onsite shoppers!!!
