Selling expired items under promotion

On 23rd September 2013 I bought airfreshner from Dis-Chem in La Lucia. After using it I found the product had a bad smell. On checking the expiry I found that the product had passed it's expiry sometime in March. I called though at the call centre and I was told that they would get someone from Dis-Chem in La Lucia to call me regarding this problem. To date nobody has called me back.

Is Dis-Chem flogging expired items to the public under the guise of a promition??
