Over the weekend of 26 and 27 January, Coricraft had a number of adverts aired on radio stations around Johannesburg. These adverts proclaimed a) wide range of lounge suites available ex-stock; b) available on a carry away basis; c) numerous colour options and d) with prices as low as R3999-.
I tried their Clearwater and Cresta shops on Saturday - Clearwater had heard of the advert but had only one option available which I couldn't buy and take away as they needed it for show. Cresta also had only 1 couch available but it needed to be uplifted after 48 hours from their warehouse.
On Sunday I tried both stores in Fourways. Design Quarter didn't know of the advert or the sale and Fourways Centre explained that nothing they sold was ex-stock and everything was made to order.
It seems the adverts were to lure customers into stores but without any real intention of favourable trading conditions.
I find it quite unacceptable that goods must be paid for immediately whereafter a customer must wait for 48 hours to establish whether goods are actually undamaged and ready at warehouse. If not, refunds, AFTER AUTHORISATION, take 7 to 10 days.
