I was doing banking at Malvern area i then decided to quickly stop at (Malvern) Spar to get a Bite, the Dry Wors at their POS looked very inviting so i got R40 worth for my trip back to work. I then realized when trying to break the piece of Dry Wors and it didn't want to (Difficult) it came to my att. the skin around the meat was very thick and shiny and could be peeled of the meat, having a piece or two i realized this was actually Plastic and not the real intestine skin that should be used. Very suprized i went back to this store to inform them of this. The Butchery Manager was called in after the floor Manager was very rood toward me the customer! So the Butchery Manager said these are artificial skins (Supplied by Crown International) and can be consumed, this is the first time that i am aware that one can consume plastic! i believe this might be eaten by an infant and he/she can suffocate (Not Safe) this butchery guy was also very rood and informed this skin is used for other sausage and bragged that other consumers have also complained of this plastic in the meat. The store owner eventually returned my monies and removed this from the cashier counter. Please watch out Parents!
