I visited the Makro store on Saturday 17/08 and purchased several boxes of chocolates for an awards ceremony which was held on 23/08. At the graduation, one of the recipients brought to my attention that the chocolates were expired (Expiry date 22/08). This was highly embarrassing and it left me frustrated as one cannot expect to consume chocolates like fresh produce within such a short period of time. It is highly unethical for Makro to sell chocolates with such a close expiration date. My perception of Makro has changed as you are driven my profit at the expense of your customers. Makro is no different to other suppliers in the market who abuse their position without any repercussions. That was definitely my last visit to Makro and I will certainly pass the massage along to all my friends, family and work colleagues.
