There are 4 kids at the school swan primary, who have been involved in a sexual abuse case. The school contacted Teddy Bear Clinic to get involved. In the last 4 months, Teddy bear clinic has only visited the school twice. The first time was to meet with parents in which they promised they will take care of the matter and contact the parents on counselling appointments for the children. They met the kids for 5 minutes briefly. Thereafter, three weeks passed and no parents were phoned.
One parent phoned in exasperation and then Teddy Bear Clinic said: "oh, we were waiting for YOU to phone first" That parent then made an appointment, but arrived with no one to tend to her. Both her and her husband took off the time for nothing. Two kids never received counselling, because Teddy Bear Clinic does not take any action to get these children/parents involved. One child had his one and only appointment made by the school, with the school having to organise transport for this child.
These children are in need of urgent counselling, even the parents who fail to get counselling for the kids need to be addressed. Teddy Bear Clinic also does not send out social workers for home assessmnt
