LOYALTY PROGRAMME A FARCE

Tonight I went to redeem my loyalty card amount at the Spar in Riverside, Umgeni Park, Durban North. I have spent R17000 with them since being given the card to get R170 in return. I had filled my basket and wanted to redeem my well earned amount against the goods when I was told that there was no signal on their IPAD to complete the transaction? Go figure. This is the second time I have had a bad experience with their 'so called' loyalty programme. The first involved collecting stickers for knives which only materialised two months after the promotion ended. I am disgusted and feel deceived. Why advertise it as a loyalty programme and then not be able to deliver when the customer chooses to redeem their loyalty reward. I was embarrassed and humiliated by this incident and on principle walked out of the shop leaving my purchases behind. I no longer trust the loyalty programme which seems like it is a farce and will take my business elsewhere. It is such a pity as we have waited so long for this Spar to open in out area.
