I had a Markhams account which relapsed and eventually ended up being sent to debt recovery services. I paid up the account about a year ago and had to "beg" the TFG Group for my paid up letter. To date the agents "refuse" to remove the default listing from ITC stating that the National Credit Act states that it must remain on for a period of two years. This is absolute ridiculous as it was conceded by Mr Busisa Lisa as well as Eugene Maree their Senior Services Manager that they do update the ITC prior to the relapse of the 2 year period under certain conditions, also it should be noted that there is a 2 year period for default listing on the ITC according to the Act but can at the discretion of the Creditor be removed prior to the lapse of that period. It has become urgent to remove this listing as I am purchasing a house for my elderly parents and need to get this sorted but will not be granted finance, due to a debt of R1000 paid up in full more than a year ago. I feel that I am being unduly prejudiced due to a certain amount of lack of understanding of the TFG service agents. PLEASE HELP!!!
