Upon arrival at at Tinza - a residential complex in Fourways - we are confronted by a security guard who tells us we cannot drive in to visit a friend who stays there because their intercoms are out of service. He asks us to dial out friends phone using our personal phones to tell him we are at the gate. Reluctantly, we do so, then whilst on the phone with our friend he asks us to pass the phone to the security guard for clearance. The security guard insists he can not handle private calls from visitors. So we insist that he personally goes to the tenant and tell h that he needs to attend to us at the gate. He respond by telling Fus that that's "not his job" and that we ought to either call or not go through.

The problem here is there is a lack of initiative. I don't have to spend my airtime to visit a friend when I get to his gate because he doesn't do that when he gets to my gate. Their system malfunction is none of my business. The security guard tells me that I can report him because he doesn't care about the work he's doing and that he is not intimidated by our threat to report his lack of initiative.
