I signed up for a moitoring service with ADT for my own alarm system. A representative from ADT a Mr Keith Daries visited me in my home and brought me the paperwork to sign. I clearly stated to Mr Davies that I wanted to be on a month to month service and not be tied into any fixed contract to which he assured me I was not as I owned my own Alarm system. I am now trying to cancel my monitoring service with ADT and I'm being told that I signed a two year contract of service and will be charged a early cancellation fee. I told the customer service representative (Shaine Lewin) that I had not agreed to any two year contract, and that I clearly stated this to their sale rep, to which I was told that I had agreed to a two year contract. I will now be pursuing this matter further, as well as cancelling the Electric Fencing and Armed response service with ADT for our Apartment Block as I am the Chairman of our Body Corporate. So ADT will now be losing two customers and all future business from me and the block of apartments I'm in charge of. I will also be advising my father in-law to switch his armed response service from ADT to Chubb.
