The property owners of a Plettenberg Bay neighbourhood decided to donate funds for the provision of CCTV cameras for public surveillance of the respective area and roads.
The CCTV cameras are purchased from and installed by Garden Route Communication. Being the owner of the local wireless network Lincx, the live video footage transmitted by each camera to the control room is generously sponsored by Garden Route Communication; an enormous recurring cost saving for the property owners and residents for which they are very grateful. Being at the coast a few meters from the sea, regular maintenance to clean lenses, etc is required and Garden Route Communication has not insisted on a maintenance contract for this service -- another fine gesture of sponsorship to assist in making Plettenberg Bay a safe place for its residents and tourists.
