Inaccurate Info

After requesting activation of our new DStv decoder, the consultant (Tami? Tumi? Thandi? Can't remember her name) gave me the banking details and an eight-digit reference number (67) for the purpose of paying the subs.

I repeated this number to her and she confirmed that it was correct as I had given it. A little later in the day I paid by Internet banking using the given reference number as the beneficiary reference.

This morning I received what looks like an autogenerated SMS welcoming me to DStv. The SMS cited an eight-digit "customer no." that is identical to the number the call centre consultant gave me except for the last digit.

Now, can someone from MultiChoice please tell which number is the correct one to use.

Also, if I used the wrong number for the Internet transfer, please ensure that my payment is credited to the correct account.

Finally, it would be really good to get CONSISTENT information.
