My girlfriend and I went to go watch a movie on the weekend at Blue Route. I could not believe the exorbitant prices they charge for food and drink. We ordered 2 x 500ml Ice Teas (@R25 each) 1 x 500ml water (@R19) and one medium popcorn (@R22) which felt like eating gum it was so old!
The food costs considerably more than the tickets! A simple "cheap" date night cost me R200 for a movie and old popcorn.
If I had initially seen the prices of the food I would have rather gone hungry and thirsty than be ripped off like I was. I went to Pick 'n Pay the next day to price these items. The Ice Tea costs R9.99. The same 500ml bottle of water is prices at R3.50!!! I could not believe it!
Those were the prices at Pick n Pay, Ster-Kinekor order these items in bulk which would cost considerably less!
Yes, maybe it was my own stupidity to not initially look at the prices. But these guys are ripping off the public in a huge way. Ster-Kinekor you should be ashamed of yourselves!
