I called the Call-Centre as the picture size keeps changing on different channels on DSTV e.g. Sky News displays perfectly as 16:9 but when I change to BBC Entertainment and sometimes Supersport then the picture is suddenly 4:3. The consultant at the Call Centre told me it is my settings. I had already checked my settings under Aspect Ratio and set it to display 16:9 and to view 4:3 as stretched. The setting on my Sony TV is not set to automatic so as not to interfere with DSTV settings. The consultant didn't know where to find Aspect Ratio on the setting menu and I had to explain to him. He told me to reboot the decoder and all will be fine. Funny that my sister's DSTV is suddenly doing the same. Also I set the decoder to record certain movies and it records half the movie. This is sporadic. Is DSTV broadcasting the programmes differently all of a sudden. Call Centre will never admit that the problem might be on their side - always the Customer's fault!!!
