Explora Decoder Does NOT require new Satellite Dis

I recently purchased the new Explora Decoder and was advised by the sales consultant that I would require a new satellite dish after I gave her the details of my existing dish. We called out an independent DSTV installation technician and he told me the same, he also arrived with a new, bigger satellite dish. I dug deeper to ask more questions and he said that they receive training from DSTV each time a new product is released and after he looked at my dish, he confirmed that yes, I will require a new dish. Not knowing anything to the contrary, I tried a different tact. I told him that I am moving to my new home in a few months and will have to buy a new dish anyway so to prevent duplicated costs, could he try to connect the Explora decoder to my current dish. I was insistent and realising that he could lose his fee for installation of the new decoder, he agreed to connect it to my old dish. My DSTV works perfectly with the Explora decoder and the old dish, in fact, much better than the old decoder. I then asked the technician why he insisted on installing a new dish and he stated that this is what they were advised to do by DSTV. It is a to get people to buy a new dish.
