I went to the Moretele Park Jazz 20130901 for the first time. When the event first started everything was running smoothly. Artists were on stage on time and the performers from the bands were great. I enjoyed Basadi Women of Jazz, an all male jazz band and then Tshepo Fela in that order. However after Tshepo Fela the entire organisation went down the drain. There was an hour break were we it was announced by the MC that Khaya Mthetwa was coming on stage. This never came to pass. Instead the MC was in stage making a few jokes and after 30 minutes seeing nothing was happening he retreated to the backstage and kwaito and house music was played. From that time there was several uncomfortable 30minute breaks when the artists were meant to be performing. The worst part was that they played and kwaito and house music. That is not what I paid R250 for. Had I want to go to a kwaito concert I would have gone to the Bundu Inn gig or if I wanted to listen to house music I would have gone to a club and paid way less in a club cover fee. I feel this was a day light on the side of Drakensberg Promotions. The entire gig was poorly organised for the changeover of the bands. [Email Removed]
