I went to watch the movie Evil Dead on Saturday evening at East Rand Mall. The movie is rated 18 VL (and believe me there is a lot of gruesome and violent scenes). So I was surprised to discover a family with a child who looked about two years old in the cinema. And the child wasn't sleeping either as one of the family members kept getting up to take the child out as soon as he/she started crying (this also made the experience unpleasant). I find it unacceptable that a child was allowed into a movie with an age restriction of 18 and believe that even though it might be difficult to monitor which cinemas people go into Ster-Kinekor should be much stricter about incidents like this.
