I bought 2 new HD PVR decoders in Sep-12 from House & Home Sandton. They started doing funny things after a month. The primary froze & displaying full hard drive when not even 20% & didn't react to volume controls. The secondary froze & didn't responding to the remote & froze at approx. 17:23 most days. Both required resets before I could use them. I called customer service who could not assist and advised that the decoders are faulty and need to be taken in.
I took the decoders in to the Midrand agency who tested for 2 hours and did a full factory reset. They suggested I swap both with refurbished units at a R40 admin fee or try them & if they still trouble, bring them back. Not wanting to give my new decoders with all my recording for old one's, I tried to use them but they started their nonsense after a week.
I took the to the retailer as I can have them replaced with new units under the 1 year warranty and 6 month CPA stipulation. They informed me that Multichoice enforces I return to them and they will give me new units. Alas, I got 3 more "refurbished units" that donot work properly, 1 didn't work at Multichoice.
