Annette Laing sold me a house which belonged to a family member of hers. At the time of sale, i was not aware of this. Her family member offers a garden service and both their names appear on the same advertising board in Bergvliet main road.
The house I bought from Annette Laing had many latent defects - no sewerage, roof needed replacing, extension roof not built to spec. causing ongoing maintenance issues, electrical faults despite the electrical certificate.
Annette Laing refused to communicate with me about the matter and I tried to reverse the sale once I found out the magnitude of these problems within the first 2 months. - but the bank ABSA which gave me the bond would not allow this.
Huge costs were incurred and a civil lawsuit with the previous owner ensued. It has taken 5 years to come to court since Mr Becker - previous owner dodged summons for 2.5 years and he was eventually traced to Springfield school where his childlren are pupils.
I was extremely upset to learn that the estate agent - Annette Laing - was related to Simon Becker's wife - previous owner.
This unresolved matter continues with the possibility of litigation.
