I paid a two month deposit and on the termination of my contract the landlord unfairly deducted R250 for cleaning and repainting a built in outside braai, when clearly the fault with the design of the braai, in not allowing the smoke to pull through the chimney. A further amount of R250 (just for the paint) was also deducted for repainting of a ceiling measuring no more that 12sqm, it was dirty and needed a coat of paint, but R250 is excessive. They are charged an amount of R150 for labour. I tried querying this on two occasions, but they didn't have the decency to get back to me.
