I terminated my lease one month early with Renprop and i was told that a fee of R1500 would be deducted as an early termination. i was fine with that s per my lease agreement.
i then moved out on the 31 August 2013. i called Melanie 3 times in a 2 week period to find out when my deposit will be paid to me and Melanie Sabatini told me that it takes 14 working days but she will try her best to get it processed sooner. i received my deposit back on 13 September 2013 but the sum was R1128.63 returned to me. according to my knowledge i should have received R2800. this was not the case. i emailed Melanie to find out why this was done WITHOUT any communication. she replied with a report showing me that i was charged for the cleaners, paint, curtain runners and a light cover. all to the value of R1671.37.
to me this is absolute crookery. i cleaned out the place and left it brand spanking new before i vacated. i paid R250 for the painter to repaint the whole place. i reported the light cover when i moved in. so i am shocked that i was now charged for these services. this is totally unacceptable and renprop has actually taken my money without any communication, i consider this ILLEGAL!!!
