I also rented a unit through CSI Rentals: manager Paul Venter, refused to give back my deposit. The previous tenant left the unit in a state and specific things were noted eg dirty walls, keys missing, doors broken, etc etc. After moving in about 3 weeks later they repaired and painted some of the walls but things like the nail in the passage, door frame amongst other things were never fixed but yet they took this from my deposit after waiting more than 6 weeks for them to even get back to me. I never got an in and out inspection sheet from them and requested this non stop for a couple of months. After quering and phoning in they eventually sent me and empty document (in inspection) with a page of explanation which said whats wrong with the unit and on checking this against the out inspection i found they correspond with what was wrong before occupying the unit (things that were never fixed) but yet still took it off my deposit. I never received water & electricity accounts which suddenly popped up now. I requested a meeting with Casper, Paul Venter and Shaun so that this can be cleared but yet they refused. i dont know what to do anymore but will go to the newspapers.
