I just moved into a new flat in sunnyside. I am renting through Fpt and a couple of weeks ago someone walked into my flat and my laptop. My windows were closed and the door locked, yet when I came back from work one fateful day I found that my laptop was gone. I was so shocked and scared, but decided to go to fpt to report this. They said they don't take responsibility, all they can do is arrange for a change in locks, but i would have to pay for this. I was like but can't we share the cost, I mean how many other people have lived in that flat before me, anyone could have made a copy of the key by now - since they admitted that the change in door lock was not done in a number of years.By the way someone was murdered in this block of flats in the 5th floor, there was no sign of a break-in and now the assumption is that the person who died actually knew the person so they might have let him in. But having undergone this experience I doubt this story, I think Agencies should force owners to change locks every time they get a new person to rent. I am so afraid, I'm hoping to get a new place. I have laid a complaint at the sunnyside police station, but this wont change the issue.
