I, Lizahn Kruger (used to be Oberholzer) rented a flat in Casseldale from Stark & Scott. During my occupancy the safety door key broke inside the lock, due to the flat being on the 1st floor and me living alone at the time, I had no other choice than to break down the door.
I thus replaced the lock of the door as well as paid for the repairs to the door frame. I left the flat with the door being in perfect working condition.
Upon evacuation of the flat (31 January 2013), all was found in working order except that they had a problem with the way the door frame was repaired. Stark & Scott then held back R1, 000.00 of my deposit money to pay for their own repairs to the door frame. Actually fixing the same door frame for the second time?
Today 30 July 2013, 6 months after evacuation of the flat this said door frame has still not been "repaired" for the second time by Stark & Scott.
I contacted Stark & Scott this morning 30 July 2013. After being told by the receptionist that the money is in the owner of the building's bank account and is still to be used to repair the door frame, I asked to the manager. Whom exclaimed that it is now their money???
