Bureacratic Bungling at its Worst

My accountant registered my start-up at the end of 2012 with the CIPC. My name was spelt incorrectly by CIPC on issue of a CoR 14.3 certificate despite documented evidence of the correct information having been submitted to the CIPC. When I applied for a bank account and submitted the CoR14.3, the error was picked up. I contacted the CIPC to rectify it. This was last week and did not hear from them. Eventually, a CIPC supervisor who insisted that unless I had a call reference number I had no proof that I had contacted them despite having an e-mail trail. He did not apologise for the administrative bungling and attempted to portray me as the unreasonable party for not being willing to wait 48 hours for the matter to be corrected. He did concede to drawing the file that afternoon. This was Friday 2013/04/12. When I followed up on Monday morning I was told that I could not be assisted because the person who was handling my call was on training. When I enquired why given the urgency of the matter, it was not given to someone else who could attend to it, the operator hung up the phone on me reciting a favourite refrain of RSA agencies: "You are not listening to me/you do not understand"
