4 Days after arriving at the H.J.H my father received his first treatment. No IV was put up, pain meds had to be begged for, Dr's lost him in another ward because there were no beds, Charts were falsified, BP was not taken regularly. Surgery was performed on the bowel without having a bowel wash which is mandatory. As a result my father passed away 3 days after surgery. After receiving my letter of complaint 2 months ago, a meeting was set with the Acting CEO, this was cancelled at the last minute as her mother was ill, another meeting was set for the 27th but had a death in her family & the Superintendent Dr Geraldine Kirby took her place. Mgr. of Quality Insurance & Mgr. of the Nurses also attended. Dr Kirby was patronizing, extremely aggressive & arrogant with absolutely no empathy. She said we must sue the department of health. She was incapable of understanding that I wanted an explanation as to how & why this was allowed to happen. It was obvious that Dr Kirby was ignorant to any facts pertaining to our case & often had to scratch through the files to find the information. She was totally unprepared & admitted to not even having read through my father's file.
