Welverdiend, suburb of Carletonville, was without water supply for 5DAYS. Though being without water for 2days a week is NOT uncommon in Welverdiend. However when questioned the answers are vague and never to the point. Once even accused of not paying the elec&wter bill.though the WHOLE suburb is without water. Maintenance on pipes seem to happen ONLY on weekends and PUBLIC holidays??? Over the public holiday weekend in Dec'13 (14, 15 &16 Dec) on the morning of Sunday (15th) and Monday (16th) 7am sharp they (municipal workers) cut up a storm in the fields... Cutting grass etc etc. SPECIFICALLY on PUBLIC holidays. No other day watsoever have they worked except public holidays and Sundays. (In this area specifically) and the REFUSE removal ..
The first 3weeks in Dec'13, no where in the muni area have any refuse been removed. Their excuse, "can't work in rain". Fine I get that. But the problem? It DIDN'T RAIN the whole 3weeks!!! This is not to mention the power shortage. And all the above mentioned goes for Cville, fochville and Welverdiend. When Welverdiends power goes off 10PM, Khutsong (4km between cville and wdiend) lights up like Christmas!!! Explain this??
