My fiance went to the UIF office in Goodwood to claim for UIF as she is going on maternity leave. When she went the first time they asked to get some papers filled in, which she did and went back. Now everything was fine except for the another one or two things to do. The part that I do not understand is that you, according to them, are NOT allowed to come back the same day which I don't understand as there was only 3 people seated. As a matter of fact, she was told to only come back in 2 days. She got the relavant papers and went back 2 days later. She entered the office just after 3. According to the website the offices are open from 07:30 till 16:00. One was busy on a phone, which was the same story she went the second time. He then signed that they were closed. The other one told my fiance that since she stays close by he cannot see a problem with her just coming back another day. Their attitude absolutely stinks. And since when are you NOT allowed to come back the same day? Since when are you allowed to be busy on a cellphone when calling, waiting and attending to a client? Why go threw all this with normal clarks giving you attitude if your applying for UIF you paid for?
