Buying a Kenwood - Best You Buy Two!

Kenwood Titanium Chef KM010 sent for repairs - after two weeks the distributor was unable to obtain a quotation for repairs from the manufacturers service department (DeLonghi Kenwood SA). As the end-customer I had to call the services manager as the distributor was unable to get a suitable response from Kenwood as to the unnecessary delay (the reason given was that the required spare part prices were not available resulting in an inability to quote).
I cannot believe that a company manufacturing a globally distributed product such as Kenwood are unable to provide prompt quotations based on accessible price lists! I can however accept that it relates to the poor service situation which is so prevalent in South Africa.
Well done Kenwood SA - poor service = destruction of brand reputation.
So if you are going to buy a Kenwood Chef - best you buy two because you are going to need the spare unit given the time it takes to get faulty units repaired.
