Toyota
Non-disclosure of accident damaged vehicles

Went to view a Ford Ranger Wildtrak at Monument Toyota today.
Looking at the vehicle, I noticed that it did not have any of the factory decals on it, the paint texture was inconsistent, and black primer was visible on the inside of the front fenders. I queried the salesman on this, who agreed that he could see the rough paint on the fenders, but could not explain whether the car was resprayed. I inspected the car further and could clearly distinguish that it has been completely resprayed. This would obviously affect the value of the vehicle, since it is a high end vehicle with less than 15 000km on the clock. I requeste dhte salesman to get back to me on what the reason was the car was resprayed (probably hail damage), and whether in the light of this they will be negotiable on the price.

What was shocking is that the salesman came back and insisted that "100% irrevocably" there has been no repairs done on the car, and that the paint was original. He could not explain why the car had no factory decals, why the finish was inconsistent and of poor quality.

I have no problem buying a repaired car, but the problem here is that the dealer is maliciously dishonest.
