My Hyundai's Immobiliser remote stopped working and I had to revert to the spare. I asked Hyundai Boksburg to re-code the faulty remote for me. I booked the car in and was told later that day that it cannot be fixed and I need to by a new remote for R3000.00! I can fit a complete new immobiliser/central locking unit for R 1700 but I thought I'd do a Google search first. Five minutes later I found info stating that by using the correct ignition key position and remote presses the remote will be reset. It worked first time. I phoned the service department to blast them and was told that the service manager will call me back. Of course this didn't happen, just like it didn't happen when I first called in to chat to someone from the service department to find out my options.
However I did quickly get a call from their sales department asking if I am looking to buy a new car.
I am in the market for a new car, just not from these people.
