I bought a Russell Hobbs Coffee Maker 10968s from Hirsch's online a month ago. Use of the machine resulted in a terrible smell of burning plastic and this also affected the taste of the coffee beyond drinkable. I persevered with the machine, flushing many many times with no coffee and with coffee. Same result.
I returned it to Hirsch's a week ago and they kindly replaced it only to have exactly the same problem - an unbearable toxic morning odour in the kitchen. I make llots of coffee in my life, so I know the smell is not a result of the beans I use nor the water, so am I the first person to have this model of maker, or the only one to have consecutive faulty units?
The HoLB website doesn't have a contact form or email address, so I now have to wait for office hours to phone their service department landline.
I either want another model of equivalent value or my money back, but not another replacement.
