Contact lenses out of stock for more than 3 weeks

I ordered and paid for the following contact lenses on 28 October 2013 from my optometrist (Deziner Optical/Mellins in Somerset West).

Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear plus
D: -2.00
BC: 8.8
DIA: 14.0

To date I have not received the contact lenses and was told that the supplier was out of stock. I emailed customer care from the Acuvue website on 12 November and got no response. I then phoned the customer care on 011 265 1030 and was indeed told that they are out of stock and that I would take ANOTHER 2 to 3 weeks, it appears to be the standard answer.

I told him that I am seriously considering changing to a different brand which is more readily available, an he was not phased at all, his response: "Ok"... there was no attempt made to help me or provide an alternative in the meantime.

It is unacceptable to wait for more than possible a month with no end in sight for for a consumable product like a contact lenses.
