I bought a Serta mattress from Jacobs in Durban on the 21st of August 2010.
The mattress was hardly used for the first year.
It has since collapsed on either side. I sent through a complaint to the head office on the 17th September 2013, only to be told that because i bought the mattress from the factory in jacobs, there was nothing they could do.
When i queried, as to whom i could take this matter up further with, i got the following response.
"Sorry to inform you that your bed carries no guarantee, as you bought is direct from our factory in Durban, reason being that you paid cost price for the bed. I have spoken to management and decision in final."
When i bought the mattress, i was not told informed that i was:
1. paying cost price for this.
2. that it did not come with a guarantee
Poor quality, customer and after sales service...
