My friend Joseph Karamoja identified a very nice Prado from Carmart and gave a deposit of R40000.00 with the contract being for a trade in with the difference paid after 2 weeks.
Unfortunately due to unforeseeable circumstances he could not honour the deal and when he went back to explain to Carmart about his problem, hoping they would understand, a lot of bad attitude was thrown his way, and they witheld R10000 of his money, not taking into a count that for a week they traded with his R40000 without him requesting for interest.
On asking for the part of the contract that allows them to withhold his deposit, they have not been able to produce any and continue to give very bad attitude to the customer.
This having been contractual and the contract not having a clear exit clause, Carmart will need to give back the R10k or face prosecution. Such dealers are to be kept away from!!!
