On 12 June 2013 we purchased goods to the value of R1 145.70 from a company Blakekin Plastics in Germiston. As our clients are blue chip companies (their payment terms being 30 - 60 days from statement) our terms with suppliers are 40 days from date as statement which was clearly marked on all our credit applications.
When we did our payment run at the beginning of August, Blakekin wasn't loaded as we hadn't loaded the banking details and been such a small amount was overlooked when doing a supplier run follow up.
Today I received a phone call from the accounts person at Blakekin Plastics threatening to hand me over as we hadn't paid the R1 145.70.
I admit we are at fault for not paying the amount timeously, but the attitude from the accounts staff while dealing with a client was appalling. I want to use the word RUDE, but that doesn't come close.
