I received a sms correspondence from Best Body Skin today although I have never visited or known of this establishment before. So, I phoned their office to find out where they got my number from and kindly exclude me from their correspondence list. The biggest shock was to find out that the establishment bought! a database of numbers, which mine was obviously part of. After I asked them to tell me who they bought the database from, I was given a very rude response and the call was abruptly dropped.
My comment and a recommendation goes to the owner of Best Body Skin: you are in an extremely competitive industry. Client service is not a differentiator for you, it's a basic requirement. With the attitude you have, you are guaranteed to be out of business before you get your 10th client through the door. And I can assure you that I will add my input to it.
The question I would like to send to the broader public, and hopefully, the regulator: How legal is this activity of selling and buying people's personal data? What other data, apart from cell numbers are being sold and to who? Regards, Irina Brouwe
