While in Jhb on business, I hired a car (upgraded to a Lexus). Locked my keys in the boot 10/4/13 while visiting Sacred Heart College. We looked in the yellow pages, phoned The Call Man - 4.00. He indicated that he might not be able to open the Lexus and was I happy to pay the call out of R350 never-the-less? This I agreed to. As he indicated he would come after another job he was busy with, I asked to be called when he arrived, as I was having a cup of tea inside. The next I knew a colleague phoned (5.03 according to my cell) to say my boot was open?! The person who did it was not the person I spoke to and only after he had opened it did he inform me that the charge was R950! When he spoke to his boss, his boss suggested that if I did not want to pay, to throw the keys back and shut the boot? He then negotiated down to R650 telling me he would get in trouble with the boss. When I threatened him with Hello Peter as it was exorbitant, he went off in a huff threatening to come back tomorrow to the school?! (for what?!) The following day I phoned the man I had spoken to, he accused me of not wanting to pay, then said it was after-hours?! I said I would only pay R350 which I did.
