Around the first week of December I received a call from a collection agency regarding an outstanding amount due to SABC. Please note that this call was received at 18h45. My husband answered the call and upon the caller realising it was not me, cut the call short. I returned the call just to hear from the recording that the office hours is until 18h00. Am I not protected from receiving such calls at such time of night... I contacted the number the next day and was told that I was handed over by SABC without receiving any notice of an account (according to the person on the otherside of the line, SABC does not send out accounts???) Since then I have done some investigation to find out it is a SABC fault as I have a montly debit order. My TV is not even connected!!! I have now at several occasions on different days emailed Shapiro with absolute no answer or reply BUT I do receive a letter of demand in between the no replies to my questions!!!
This morning I contact Shapiro on my cost and after 7 minutes I get nowhere...
This is my last resort as I am not paying any penalties because of SABC's mistake and Shapiro's lack of interest to sort out the mistake.
