Rubybox
False advertising on rubybox website

When I discovered rubybox and was very excited about the whole concept. I decided to first purchase something from the website to judge the service before subscribing. Once I had an account, I noticed a big banner across their website saying that all orders would receive 3 samples, and a luxury gift with orders over R500. So I was curious about the 'free luxury gift' and bought 2 items instead of he one that caught my attention initially.

I received the 2 boxes after a delay and some ignored emails, unanswered phone calls and finally a hellopeter enquiry. I was (again) ignored when I emailed to enquire about why the 'free gift' wasn't included, and later when I enquired through the website. I then enquired on their facebook page, where I got told 'oh, sorry, that gift didn't apply to your purchase.'

There was nothing on the advertisement or on my purchase that mentioned 'terms and conditions' or 'small print' or exclusions of any kind. This is false advertising, and I fell for it. I will know in future to not believe anything I read on this website, and I am very glad that I tested with a purchase before subscribing.
