I had a syphilis and aids test done in September 2012 with Lancet laboratories. I have received 5 different quotes on the tests, with the final amount being R800 on the day I was tested and was informed that the amount will only differ should these tests be positive. The hospital later contacted me and again confirmed the amount of R800 outstanding to them, which I then paid and according to me the account was settled. However, in January I received a phone call from Lancet stating that I owe an amount of R2400 to them. I informed them that I have settled the amount owed (R800.00). I then asked them to send me an invoice with the amount I allegedly owe. On the 6th of March 2013 I received an invoice reflecting an outstanding amount of R2077.10 in total - (which according to my calculations amount to R2036.70). On this invoice I am being charged for 2 tests that I wasn't aware of, and I never gave permission for these tests to be conducted. According to my knowledge they can't quote a customer one amount and later invoice them a different amount, and also to include any tests that weren't part of the quote without my permission. I was never contacted re. any errors made on the quote
