No upgrading to add a newborn baby

I'm very disappointed with discovery. My baby gets born in 2 weeks and I need to upgrade my plan. I'm currently on Classic core (Just hospital cover) and want a Classic saver so that we have cover for a new born child. And I know there are rules that state you are not allowed to upgrade due to people upgrading when the just need the extra cover, but this is a new born child that we just want to be covered for when she gets born. Even pro rata for the plan would have been fine, but discovery does not care... Pathetic!!!
