I rented an apartment at Sea Point in Cape Town from Nox Rentals. The pictures on the website were misleading and for such an expensive rental rate (R6500 for 3 nights), the apartment did not live up to expectations. Further, instead of a beautiful sea view, I was confronted with a green pool, overgrown garden and rubble site. When renting the apartment, no mention was made of the eyesore view as well as that the house (rented apartment was on the lower level to a sub-divide) was next to an open mountain area that had no security features such as fencing.
When I contacted Nox Rental to complain and request a different apartment (which I was willing to pay in the price difference if need be), I was told (after waiting 2 hours for a call back) that they were not prepared to do anything about it and if I wanted to rent a different place, I would have to pay the full amount for the new place and that it would still be determined whether I was entitled to a refund for the current place with no guarantee that I would in fact receive a refund.
