With all medical issues, it takes weeks to months to get your medical aid and suppliers to work out who needs to pay what. After some deliberation and issues, I paid R600 on Lancet's account, while I was still waiting to find out how much my Hospital plan is going to pay. Two weeks later, after receiving no smses, (Lancet LOVES to bomb smses) and being in touch with them for 3 days prior without mention to being handed over, I get an sms informing me that I've been handed over to ITC, on phoning Lancet, I find they have 7 accounts on my name, not 1, and they insist I have not been handed over to ITC, but I'm still on ITC's books. I make R20 payments to EACH account and request they remove me from ITC (for debt collecting) and consolidate the account into 1. Emphatically they promise to do so. On phoning today, I realize they have ONLY allocated my payment to each account, on which the person I speak to insists that they cannot consolidate the accounts and cannot give me the right statement as it takes their offices 7-14 days to allocate payments made by medical aid and again INSIST that I have not been handed over. I also have to ask for statements, before receiving any.
