Lancet
Quick to hand over, slow for anything constructive

In July 2013, I received a letter on an ITC (credit bureau) letterhead, stating that I owed money to Lancet for tests ordered by my doctor in March 2013. The tests were indeed done, but I knew nothing of Lancet's bill until receiving the letter. On querying, Lancet said they "tried to contact me" several times by mail, phone and SMS. I had received no such communications.
Although 4 months old, the bill was legit so I paid it immediately. Since they had involved ITC, I asked for an ITC lette stating that no credit listing or other action was pending against me.
That was on 22 July (2 months ago), and I'm still waiting.
In that time I have followed up several times by phone and no less than 12 emails have been sent, most of which were promises made by various call centre agents (eg Hope, Kelly, Christelle, Ameila ...), none of which have been kept. The last person was Previn Govender, some kind of "team leader". Still nothing.
I don't believe that Lancet made any serious attempt to contact me (it's not hard) before calling in ITC.
They're very quick to do that, but it seems they at anything resembling real customer service work.
I'll do my level best to avoid them in future!
