How can they do that

My husband was hospitalized for his back span, he fell and he was hospitalized for 3 days, now we getting bills that our medical aid only approved 1 day? we where not told, bestmed took all our savings without telling us the reason and finally when I ask we are told that they only approved 1 day? who told us? how can the hospital allow him to sleep for 3 days if only 1 day was approved? why were we not advised of this? I really think this is unfair and unprofessional that we would be treated this way. we paying the medical aid for us to be covered as we don't have money lying around. can some please fix as this very frustrating that you can trust your medical then this.
