My wife was in hospital and we had lancet as a service provider for bloods. After our Medical aid was exhausted we owed them some cash, 1115.70. I went into a chain store Paypoint and paid R600 and was going to pay the rest the following month. The rest being 515.70. However my medical kicked in on January 1st and the amount of 700.70 was then paid in full by the medical aid. So I was under the impression that the R600 i paid went toward the remaining amount and that would have left me with a credit balance.
However Lancet did not bill me for 9 months. Not even a statement or phone call but i instead received a call from ITC saying i owe and amount of R68.47. For such an insignificant amount, they handed me over and without any warning or call or anything.
That i believe is unprofessional behaviour. I did speak to their team leader who then advised me to pay the R68.47 and leave out the collection charges. I did deposit the money to their account but to warn other people that the amount maybe small, but its the principal of the matter.
I work and also run a business and this i believe is NOT how you treat your clients.
Very disappointed with Lancet...
