My wife and I went away to Misty Valley Lodge for a weekend, after hearing great reports from friends of ours about what a great place it was.
Whilst it's a great place, we were disappointed with a few housekeeping oversights and the less than exceptional attitude of some of the staff on duty.
While we were there, my Leatherman also disappeared from our room. We alerted the staff on duty but there wasn't much of a response and nothing was done about it.
When we got back home, we wrote the manager an email expressing some of our concerns about the service and raising the issue about the Leatherman. We were so impressed by his response. Within a day he had addressed his staff and corrected some of the service related issues, and within a couple of days had offered to replace the Leatherman. We weren't expecting much when we emailed through our concerns, but we were pleasantly surprised at how efficient, responsive and concerned the manager was about our concerns. Every lodge can have days when service levels can slip, but it's great to see a lodge treating guests with such care and sorting issues out. The whole experience left us very impressed, and we will definitely be going back.
